History/Politics/Justice – Why did Huseyn b. Ali revolt against the system of his time?

Why did Huseyn b. Ali revolt against the system of the time?

Do you believe Huseyn b. Ali revolted for the sake of power and authority? Did you really think that Huseyn rose, so the people pray and do ablution in a particular way?! Far from it!

The stand of Huseyn was the stand of his pious forefathers, Muhammad the Messenger of God, and Ali the successor and vicegerent of God’s last Prophet. Imam al-Huseyn rose like a star to enjoin good, forbid evil and establish justice by removing the games of tyranny.

Look at how many people use the name and religion of God to consolidate their power and suck the blood of the weak. They raise the Qur’an, similar to the deceivers who raised the Qur’an with spears against the justice of Imam Ali.

They raise the Qur’an and they pray but they live lavishly, they live selfishly, they steal, they kill, they take the rights of the weak and give it to those who do not deserve it. They live in palaces, whilst the old man cannot buy food for his children to eat! So what? So what if he shows the people that he prays? What are we going to do with his rituals?

‘Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing’ (Qur’an 29:45) How ironic, their prayers bring immorality and injustices.

Woe upon their prayers!

Woe upon their deception!

Have personal, spiritual rituals become more important than the morality and ethics God has established, such as giving to other than yourself?

‘They feed the destitute, the orphans, and captives for the love of Allah, saying: We only feed you for the sake of Allah and we do not want any reward or thanks from you (Qur’an 76:9)’. The real essence of Islam was this message and Huseyn and the Alids aimed to revive it.

Now look what the book of God says about such people:

1. Have you seen the one who denies the ˹final˺ Judgment?

2. That is the one who repulses the orphan,

3. and does not encourage the feeding of the poor.

4. So, woe to those ˹hypocrites˺ who pray

5. yet are unmindful of their prayers;

6. those who ˹only˺ show off,

7. and refuse to give ˹even the simplest˺ aid. (Qur’an 107:1-7)

They pray but they don’t care about the poor and the needy, how is this possible? This is exactly how they deceived the masses. Islam endorsed free-will, yet they endorsed determinism to not take any responsibility, Islam encouraged ma’ruf (known good), yet they rejected notions of good, evil and morality to legislate filth and corruption, Islam called towards reason (‘aql) whilst they opposed rationality to put the people to sleep and to get away with the lie “do not rebel against your rulers even if they whip and beat you”.

What happened to the message of ‘No other god except the One True God (Allah)”? If nothing apart from Allah is not worthy of worship, then why am I so subservient to selfish rulers like a slave?

This is exactly why Huseyn b. Ali revolted

Imam al-Huseyn will never accept this lie against God, His Messenger and the people. Huseyn will not tolerate injustice, No! Huseyn cannot tolerate injustice, it is not possible! His mind, his heart and his soul can never stand such a thing. Imam al-Huseyn and his successors will never allow God’s religion of mercy and justice to get distorted. Even if they were to lose everything, their wealth, their lives and their loved ones, they will still stand strong to raise the banner of God and they will not stop until Judgment Day!
