Do the people really think that Husayn b. Ali started the tradition of revolt & uprising against tyranny? By God, Husayn only continued the Divine command of establishing the Divine will & decree that started with Adam up until the last messenger Muhammad b. Abdullah (a.s.). The stance of uprising is the path of the messengers & prophets of God. They are never content with rebellion against God & the people. They are never subservient to tyrants, & they always strive to bring justice even if it means they sacrifice their own lives.
Imam al-Husayn said to his nephew al-Qasim b. al-Hasan, “O my son, how do you find death?”. Al-Qasim replied “O my uncle, it is sweeter to me than honey”.
This is the example of the Ahlulbayt, they seek truth, justice & the pleasure of God more than anything else in this world. In fact, it is the biggest honour to give up everything they love for the sake of truth & justice! Through their sacrifices they have earned the highest & most noblest of positions in the sight of God
Do you really think that the noble stance of uprising against injustice ended with the death of Husayn b. Ali? By God, never! That would be the biggest humiliation against the noble martyrs. That would mean that Husayn gave his own life and the life of his children for no reason!
Instead, Imam al-Husayn’s stance encouraged the people to seek their rights & never be fearful in front of arrogant and corrupt rulers. Imam al-Husayn revived the Divine command & tradition of enjoining good & forbidding evil on a social & political level. He did this so it could continue until the Day of Judgement.
After Husayn, the collective sons of the Messenger of God, the sons of al-Hasan & al-Husayn endlessly continued to rebel against falsehood corruption & tyranny. The children of the Prophet bravely put their wealth and their lives to reach this noble goal.
After al-Husayn, his grandson Zayd b. Ali b. al-Husayn called towards himself to seek justice and end the tyranny of the Umayyads. After the martyrdom of Zayd, his brave son Yahya continued his father’s (and ancestors) noble mission of calling towards truth & justice. After Yahya got martyred, his cousins Muhammad & Ibrahim, the honourable sons of Abdullah al-Kamil b. al-Hasan b. al-Hasan rebelled against the cruelty of their Abbasids cousins.
Do you think the sons of the Messenger of God stopped? By God, they can never stop, they will continue to strive against oppression until they meet their Lord. That is why the second Husayn b. Ali, who is al-Husayn b. Ali b. al-Hasan b. al-Hasan b. al-Hasan bravely fought against Abbasid corruption with his family members until they met their Lord. This is the true will & decree of God. Almighty God wants the people to seek goodness & virtue despite all the evil & difficulty.
Is it over, is this it? Are the sons of the Messenger not tired of dying for God to establish justice? By God, never! Instead, when they attain the station of martyrdom, they struggle more! The sons of Fatima fought until Idris b. Abdullah established a true Islamic government in Morocco, & until Yahya established himself in Daylam. They strived until Yahya al-Hadi b. al-Husayn established his Imamate in Yemen & until Hasan al-Nasir al-Utroush established a just government in Iran. And by God, the children of the Messenger of God continued to strive until this very day.
Why?
Their Grandfather, the Messenger of God, Muhammad b. Abdullah declared “I leave you two weighty things. If you hold on to them, you will never go astray after me. They are the Book of God (Qur’an) and my progeny, my Ahlulbayt. The All-Knowing informed me that they will never separate until they meet me at the basin. (Reference Mustadrak al-Hakim)
The Prophecy of the last Prophet of God has been fulfilled because the Children of the Messenger unlike other peoples and groups never tolerated disbelief, corruption & injustices. On the contrary, they collectively strived to establish Divine law & justice on Earth until this very day and they are going to continue until the Day of Qiyamah!
