How should one deal with oppressors in Islam?

Imam Yahya b. al-Husayn b. al-Qasim b. Ibrahim b. Ismail b. Ibrahim b. al-Hasan al-Muthanna b. al-Hasan al.Sibt b. Ali b. Abi Talib (al-Hādi ila al-Haqq), peace be upon him, said:

“Whoever supports an oppressor—even if by writing a letter, carrying an inkwell or putting it back—then, on the Resurrection Day he will meet Allah with His Anger upon him. When Allah is angry with someone, then Hellfire shall be his destiny.

When I say that, I do not mean a specified oppressor and exclude the others. But I mean that it is forbidden to help, beneficiate, or serve any oppressor, whoever he is—even if he was from the Progeny of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, or was from anyone else.

Therefore, every oppressor is accursed, and every supporter of an oppressor is accursed as well. It has reached us that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, said regarding this matter:

((Whoever collects a dirham for an unjust Imam, Allah will throw him on his nose into the fire of Hell)”.

These words of the Prophet Muhammad (saws) and Imam al-Hadi (a.s.) is the essence of Islam embodied and transmitted by the Imams of Ahlulbayt (Zaydiyya) and this is evidently the Divine will!

Those who belie God and oppress the masses by claiming that justice shall only be postponed to the next-life are shameless traitors, liars and cowards who misrepresent the Divine religion for their selfish gains.

(Surah Al Ma’idah 5:49): “We order you to judge between them according to what Allah has sent down. Do not follow their desires”.

They deceive the masses by limiting the Divine command of enjoining good and forbidding evil to following rituals and they are not only silent against those who drink the blood of the people, but they are obedient to the arrogant oppressors! Instead, the Muslims only obey what is right.

What a disaster!?

How can this way of life be the perfect Divine religion? How can those charlatans be the guardians and custodians of Islam?

Instead, the leaders of guidance will always continue the Divine mission like the Prophets of God did in the past.

The rightly guided Imams feel so much compassion, love, anger and justice that they can never ever tolerate those who arrogantly disobey God and oppress the people in the name of God and religion!

O believers, question everything, come back to your innate disposition and never be fooled by the religious rhetoric of the transgressors.

We are the people of honour, we are the best ummah because we enjoin good and forbid evil.

(Surah 3:110): You are the best community ever raised for humanity, you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah.

Therefore, it is obligatory to oppose such an evil people and it is necessary to aid the one calls towards the way of God by striving and sacrificing to manifest and establish God’s law and justice on Earth!

By God, failing during the cause of striving against oppression is sweeter and more honourable than living a life of desire, comfort and humiliation!

Critiquing IMCA and HCM: Bias in Hadith Authentication

I’ve recently written on why I find the IMCA (Isnad-cum-Matn Analysis) and HCM (Historical-Critical Method) unreliable frameworks for hadith authentication from a Muslim perspective. The primary issue lies not in their mechanisms, but in their underlying assumptions. These methods begin with the premise that identifying a common link or tracing a narration to a specific…
